RETREAT

Organised under the  theme, as in the second epistle of Paul to Timothy 1:7, 'for God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and self-control.' Happened on Saturday, 22nd and Sunday, 23rd 2024 at St. Christopher Chapel of Nyabikoni Sec. School.

The retreat was centred at praise and worship with sessions of speeches by facilitators sandwiched. Thanks to the chapel Catechist, John Bosco Nsengiyumva, who is also the Kisoro district inspector of schools for coordinating this retreat. This he did by coordinating the facilitators and the chapel management to ensuring the programme run as earlier planned.

The facilitators to the retreat were Rev. Fr Deus Niwagaba; Saviour Active, Catechist Christ The King Parish - Kabale and  Renious Agaba, head of praise and worship - Kabale diocese.

The retreat ended with the closing mass celebrated by Rev. Fr Alexander Muhumuza, who is also Priest at Christ The King Parish - Kabale. In his homily, Deacon Alex encouraged learners to possess what he referred to as 'the five vitamins of a successful  student.'  The vitamins are A, B, C, D and E for Availability, Beauty, Confidence, Determination and Endearing respectively.

In his remarks, Rev. Fr Alexander Muhumuza informed the congregation that people of God need only God and time to liberate themselves or their countries. The retreat was declared ended on Sunday, 23rd 2024 at 5:30 p.m or thereabouts by the residence directress, Scholastic Kyomugisha, who also gave a vote of thanks to those that ensured the success of the retreat.

Rev. Fr. Alexander Muhumuza during the consecration time of the mass he celebrated on the 12th Sunday of the ordinary, year B at St. Christopher Chapel at the closure of the two-day retreat.
