On the Third Sunday of Easter, 14th April, 2024, it was a 'Mariathon Sunday' at Nyabikoni Sec. School. This Sunday was used to solicit funds to support the operations of Radio Maria Uganda, Kabale, a 'Christian Voice' in the homes of all people.
Radio Maria runs perfectly through contributions from volunteers, listeners and people of good will. It is a non for profit radio.
The day begun with the holy sacrifice of mass that was celebrated by the Director Radio Maria Uganda, Kabale, Rev. Fr. Godius Musinguzi, who is also the chaplain of school chapel, St. Christopher Chapel. The Mariathon program proceeded thereafter.
The methodology used for this Mariathon involved using contribution forms availed by the radio. Members (directors, staff and students) and well-wishers of the school used these forms to make pilgrimages to their friends and family in search for contributions.
Over Ugx. 10M (ten million Ugandan shillings) was collected. The head of promotions, Radio Maria Uganda, Kabale, Kyomugisha Agnes appreciated the generous contributions by everyone that embraced the initiative.
Speaking at the function, the Director Radio Maria Uganda, Kabale, added his voice by giving a vote of appreciation and handed over a certificate of appreciation to the director of the school, Rev. Fr. Busingye Christopher. "The mass and the Mariathon function will be broadcast live on radio on the 28th day of April, 2024, starting at 8:00 PM", he added.
